The honest, upfront answer
Frappe Cloud’s cheapest tier — $5/mo — is nominally cheaper than our Starter plan (₦20,000/mo). We’re not going to bury that or spin around it.
But that $5 tier comes with no Product Warranty or support, minimal resources (roughly 0.5 CPU-hours a day, a 0.2GB database, and 2GB of storage), and it doesn’t include getting ERPNext actually set up for your business — that’s a separate cost on top, whether you do it yourself or hire a partner. Once you compare tiers that actually include support, the picture changes — see below.

Frappe Cloud pricing is hosting only. Frappe does not do implementation themselves — they refer customers to certified partners. DIY implementation typically runs $2,000–$10,000 in time and hosting; partner-led implementation runs $10,000–$100,000+ depending on complexity. None of that is included in the hosting price above.

Starter and Business bundle setup, maintenance and managed hosting into the price above — there is no separate implementation cost. Billed in naira, so there’s no FX exposure and no USD-capable card needed.
Starter and Business both run on shared multi-tenant hosting — each business gets its own isolated ERPNext site and database, but shares the underlying server, the same model as Frappe Cloud’s own Shared tiers above. If you need a dedicated/private setup — higher load, custom apps, or SSH-level access — that’s our equivalent of Frappe Cloud’s Private Bench step-up, scoped and quoted individually rather than sold at a fixed monthly price. Comparing tiers that actually include support
The fair comparison isn’t Frappe Cloud’s $5 tier against anything of ours — it’s Frappe Cloud’s $50/mo Shared (Support) tier, where their Product Warranty actually starts, against our ₦40,000/mo Business plan, which also includes real priority support.
$50/mo, paid in US dollars by card or wire transfer, converts to well above ₦40,000 at any exchange rate the naira has traded at in recent years — and that’s before counting the hassle of holding a USD-capable card or arranging a wire transfer just to pay a hosting bill. Exchange rates move, so don’t take our word for it — check today’s rate and do the math yourself. The direction of the comparison isn’t going to change.
Metered billing vs. simple per-plan pricing
This is a real usability difference, not a marketing angle — here’s what each model actually means if you’re running a business, not a server.
Frappe Cloud: metered by CPU-hours/day
Cheaper tiers are metered by compute time (CPU-hours per day), database size, and storage. If your site has a busy day, or your database grows past your tier’s limit, requests can get throttled (an HTTP 429 error) or the site can be suspended until you upgrade. For a non-technical business owner, that means knowing what “CPU-hours” and “database size” mean, and watching them, to avoid your ERP going down mid-month.
Ejilead: priced by plan, not by metric
We price by plan tier — Starter or Business — based on how many users you have, not on compute metrics you’d have to monitor yourself. Server capacity is managed on our end as part of the plan. You don’t need to know what a CPU-hour is to run your business on Ejilead.
